Re-manufacturing is the grinding of all surfaces on a cutting tool that were originally ground during it's manufacture and unless requested otherwise, this is our normal procedure on all end mills. Re-sharpening is the service offered by most tool grinders; It returns dulled cutting edges to a sharp condition.

- Re-manufacturing produces a "new" tool to a slightly smaller size while maintaining proper edge clearances and chip evacuation areas.
- Re-manufacturing provides cycle times and part qualities virtually equal to new tools.
- Re-sharpening is cost effective (often only 10-20% the cost of new) and permits geometries to be altered and coatings added to extend tool life.
Capabilities
Razor Sharp Grinding utilizes CNC Grinders for more than 80% of all re-sharpening. This percentage will no doubt increase as more CNC Grinders are added. When feasible, we utilize our pallet loaders for manufacturing special tools, re-manufacturing & re-sharpening.
CNC Grinders
Few tool re-sharpening companies have 5-Axis CNC Grinders; Razor Sharp Grinding currently re-sharpens more than 80% of all tools on the CNC's, resulting in tools that are often as good as new . Certain geometries, ball-mills for example, require 5-Axis CNC to guarantee the geometry is correct.
Grinding Options
Re-manufacturing grinds all surfaces to return the tool to original geometries and clearance at a reduced size. "End only" maintains the diameter, but reduces the length of cut by the amount of wear removed. Geometry alterations, within certain constraints, are possible.
Pallet Loaders
This ability, within certain constraints, allows us to operate the grinder un-manned which is a cost benefit to our customers
